Summary

The auth0/nextjs-auth0 SDK from Auth0 before 4.32.0 validates that the returnTo parameter is a same-origin URL, but it later rebuilds that value for the post-authentication redirect. The rebuilt URL can be read by browsers as an absolute or scheme-relative path, which redirects users to an unintended domain (CWE-601). An unauthenticated remote attacker can get a user to follow a crafted login link, and user interaction is required.

Description from the CNA

The auth0/nextjs-auth0 SDK validates that the returnTo parameter is a same-origin URL. The SDK then stores this value and, in a later step, reconstructs it for the post-authentication redirect. The reconstruction logic can produce a URL that browsers interpret as an absolute or scheme-relative path, leading to a redirect to an unintended domain.
