Summary

The Countdown Timer (Widget Countdown) plugin for WordPress is affected in versions from 3.0.0 through 3.0.1. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the redirect_url shortcode attribute allow stored cross-site scripting (CWE-79). An authenticated attacker with contributor-level access or above can inject scripts that run in the browser of any user who opens an injected page.

The Countdown Timer – Widget Countdown plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'redirect_url' Shortcode Attribute in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
