Summary

phpMyFAQ 4.2.0-alpha before 4.2.0-beta contains an authentication bypass flaw in its Keycloak login, classified as CWE-287 (Improper Authentication). The application links Keycloak identities to existing local accounts by matching preferred_username or email, so an attacker who controls a Keycloak identity with a colliding username or unverified email can take over the local account. A successful takeover grants superadmin privileges. Exploitation is possible over the network with high attack complexity and low privileges (PR:L).
