Summary

Ghidra before 12.2 contains a resource allocation flaw in FileSystemIndexHelper, which TarFileSystem and ZipFileSystem use to store archive entries without limits (CWE-770). An attacker can persuade a user to open or batch-import a crafted TAR or ZIP archive with excessive entries, which exhausts the Java heap and hangs the session. The attack requires user interaction and has no confidentiality or integrity impact.
