Summary

n8n before 1.123.83 contains an authorization bypass (CWE-863) that lets users who can edit shared workflows use credentials they cannot access. An attacker saves a workflow with Workflow Tool or Workflow Retriever inline sub-workflows that reference restricted credentials, and these run with the workflow owner's credential values. Exploitation requires low privileges and no user interaction, and the flaw can expose confidentiality and integrity of the affected credentials.

Description from the CNA

n8n before 1.123.83 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows shared-workflow editors to use credentials they cannot access by embedding them in nested or tool inline sub-workflows. Attackers can save workflows with Workflow Tool or Workflow Retriever inline definitions referencing restricted credentials, which execute using the workflow owner's credential values.
