Summary

Trudesk through 1.2.11 contains a regular expression injection flaw that lets unauthenticated remote attackers enumerate valid usernames. Crafted regex patterns sent to the login endpoint produce different responses for valid and invalid accounts, revealing which usernames exist (CWE-943). A public exploit proof of concept is linked in the references.

Description from the CNA

Trudesk through 1.2.11 contains a regular expression injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to enumerate usernames by submitting regex patterns to POST /api/v1/login. Attackers can send alternations or prefixes like (admin|root) or a.* and distinguish 'Invalid User' from 'Invalid Password' responses to discover valid accounts.
